This is why we've created Oikocredit Journeys - an opportunity for our investors to gain first-hand experience of the work we do and the efforts of our partners. By giving our investors a chance to see our partners' positive impact in our focus countries, we can gain further support for our mission and promote Oikocredit more effectively to attract additional investments. 

The aim of Oikocredit Journeys is to bring our investors as close as possible to the positive change their investments are making. While we are organising virtual events and meetings with our partners and investors, we believe that one or two in-person journeys per year can provide additional value to what we already do. The combination of these activities reinforces one another.

We want to foster a deeper understanding of our work, the work of our partners and the impact on the end-beneficiaries. With this journey, we want to showcase what we do and promote understanding, with that enhance our base of devoted investors.

Environmental footprint of Oikocredit Journeys

We are mindful of the environmental impact that these trips may have on our planet. However, we are taking every possible measure to minimise their ecological footprint. For instance, we are committed to employing local photographers and translators to reduce carbon emissions associated with travel. Additionally, we are collaborating with local travel agents and sourcing all necessary supplies locally, ensuring that we support the economies of the communities we visit. Furthermore, the carbon emissions resulting from our flights will be completely offset through the Fair Climate Fund, a Gold Standard, Fair Trade certified project chosen by a B-Corp certified company. Through these efforts, we aim to mitigate the environmental consequences of our trips while actively supporting sustainable initiatives.
