Meet our Supervisory Board members
Eltjo Kok (the Netherlands) was elected to Oikocredit’s Supervisory Board at the cooperative’s annual general meeting in Chennai, India.
“I was very honoured to be elected to the Supervisory Board in June,” says Eltjo. “For the last seven years I served on the board of the Oikocredit Support Associations in the Netherlands and learned a lot about Oikocredit, its great mission and the contribution we make to the lives of millions of people we reach through our partner organisations. I have come to know Oikocredit as a professional organisation with highly dedicated staff, with whom I look forward to working.”
Karsten Löffler (Germany) has been a member of the Oikocredit Supervisory Board since June 2013, more recently as its Vice-Chair. After a career at Allianz Climate Solutions, he co-heads the Frankfurt School – UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance and is Managing Director of the Green and Sustainable Finance Cluster Germany.
Karsten about his new role: “I look forward to an exciting sixth year on the Supervisory Board, contributing to making Oikocredit future-ready, in the spirit of solidarity and sharing, and to the benefit of its partners and their clients, and its cooperative members worldwide. Oikocredit is in the process of refocusing its delivery and reorganising its structure. The SB will continue with a constructive dialogue on the overall direction and development with management, along with supervising the implementation and monitoring its progress.
I’d also like to call on every member to be mindful that the Supervisory Board will require new members that will fit the profile to ensure our ongoing delivery of the mission and vision. Due to the maximum term of six years, 2019 and 2020 will be the final years on the board for a large number of its members.”
