Peter Ohligschläger has announced he will end his Members’ Council role effective 31 December 2024.

Peter Ohligschläger has served on the cooperative’s Members’ Council from 2020 through 2024 and was the council’s Chair from August 2023 to August 2024. Peter was nominated to the council by the Support Association of West Germany.

Peter is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia, and has worked in the field of international cooperation and global partnerships for more than 25 years. He has worked as a lecturer in southern Africa, as facilitator for global ministries and as head of the Institute for Mission, Ecumenism and Global Responsibility. Since the early 1980s he has been committed to Oikocredit and has served in the West German Support Association as board member and in various other roles, at present as a public speaker.

Commenting on Peter’s departure, Anita Clemons, Members’ Council Chair, said: “I would like to thank Peter for his work with the Members’ Council. His leadership when he served as chair was instrumental in getting the members council more engaged with members. His kind and steady hand was always welcome and helped provide the needed structure to discussions on the council’s many topics and responsibilities. He will be missed and should always know that his work will carry on because of his efforts and commitment.”

Mirjam ‘t Lam, Oikocredit’s Managing Director, said: “Peter has made a valuable and important contribution to our cooperative’s work for several decades in different capacities. We are grateful for his service, and he will be missed.”

We thank Peter for his years of service and leadership with Oikocredit. The Members’ Council and all of Oikocredit have benefitted from his work. The council will announce the vacancy for a representative, to be filled at the 2025 Annual General Meeting.
