Through partners like U&I Microfinance Bank, Oikocredit’s coronavirus solidarity fund is reaching those who most need it. Like Loice Nyambura, the owner of a small tailoring business in Nairobi, Kenya.

In this short video you will see how with support from the fund, our partner U&I Microfinance helps their client Loice Nyambura get her tailoring business back on its feet during the pandemic. Our coronavirus solidarity fund supports end-clients of Oikocredit’s partners in meeting new regulations and can enable businesses to stay open, by financing masks and hand sanitiser for example.

You will see that not only does this enable jobs to continue, but in this example, to continue the production of the personal protective equipment (PPE) that hospitals need. See for yourself how simple but timely interventions enable the sewing machines to start up again.

When it comes to fighting coronavirus, a stitch in time really can make a big difference.
